LIGHT HORSE

** JUDGE CHANGE - Mrs P Miller is kindly replacing Mr D Machin **

** URGENT UPDATE - The Heavy Horse ridden class judge is now confirmed as Miss G Gostelow and the class will be judged in the Main ring at approx. 2.10 pm **

The Light Horse section of Ashbourne Show goes from strength to strength annually. We listened to our competitors last year who requested driving be brought back and therefore we have reintroduced the British Driving Society private driving classes and we have also added an Exercise Vehicle class to this year schedule. These classes will take place in the main ring following the Horse of the Year hunters. Ashbourne Show also hosts Hack, Cob, working hunter Horse of the Year Qualifiers, and A Ladies side saddle Royal International 2018 qualifiers.

We are also offering National Pony Society qualifiers for all the Mountain and Moorland sections, they include inhand, ridden and working hunter, enabling competitors to qualify for the NPS 2018 summer championships nice and early. We are very happy to also be hosting Race Horse to Riding Horse classes, both in Hand and Amateur qualifiers, held the following week at Aintree, kindly sponsored by Uttoxeter Race Course.

Ashbourne show offer classes to caters for all levels of showing, from local riders, kindly sponsored by Eques-train, veteran inhand and ridden classes, working hunter classes including training stakes where you choose the height of fences you wish to jump, novice riding horses, hunters and riding clubs show horses classes, all open to all. We also have several inhand sections, Mountain and Moorland, sports horses, veterans and Irish drafts classes and all those classes are now given an overall supreme inhand championship kindly sponsored by Meynell Saddlery.

We offer a fun family day out for everyone, and try our best to host a great show, with a friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy, whether competing, coming to support friends and family or on a day out.

We have got a couple of options for stabling. Both in yeaveley so not far from the show ground. They both will allow horseboxes too for overnight.
