2019 Primary Schools Art Competition Announced

Mar 18, 2019 General News

The President for 2019, Admiral Sir Trevor Soar, has announced the theme for this years Primary Schools art Competition.

Sir Trevor, a mariner who has spent most of his career at sea, was keen to introduce an element of the ocean to this year’s Show, especially as Ashbourne is about as far away from the coast as it is possible to get in the UK.

This year’s theme is ‘AGRICULTURE AND THE SEA’ and pupils from some 22 local Primary Schools are being invited to enter their interpretation of the theme by painting or drawing an A4 sized picture that brings together to two subjects.

The winner will have their picture featured on the front of the 2019 Show Guide that will be given to everyone that attends this year’s Show. They will also get a free pass that will allow them to enjoy the show with their family.

All pictures entered in the competition will be displayed in the Craft, Produce and Art marquee on Show Day for everyone to see.

If you want to enter the competition, please ask your teachers and schools wanting further information should contact Rebecca at rwhitehouse@ashbourneshow.co.uk
