Light Horse are looking forward to the 2020 Ashbourne Show. In 2019 we all had to work hard due to wet weather to enable the light horse section of the show to go ahead. It was a testing time, luckily we have a positive team and pulled together, putting all the classes back by an hour to enable competitors to get onto the ground, and tracking was laid in the horsebox parking area to get the lorries onto the ground safely.

Every year we review the classes we host and alter the schedule accordingly, we try to offer sections our competitors would like to compete in. New for 2020 is young handler classes within our local rider section, this will be split into two classes, 6 - 9 & 10 -16yrs old for competitors living within a 25 mile radius of the show. We have also added another training stakes, offering a 60cm & 75cm section.

We host 47 classes within light horse, aiming that our competitors enjoy their day out, whatever level they compete within. The range covers Horse of the Year Hunters, Working Hunter horses, Hacks, Cobs & Private Driving, alongside these classes we host Mountain & Moorland inhand & ridden, plaited working hunter ponies & horses, local riders and unaffiliated classes. If anyone has any suggestions for the light horse please feel free to contact myself.
