Light Horses at The Ashbourne Show
Last year the Light Horse section of Ashbourne Show had bumper entries which was very much appreciated and encouraging for the future.
The driving classes were especially well supported and special as our Private Driving Champion went on to be overall Champion at the Horse of the Year show. We are extremely grateful to all the driving turnouts for their continued support of our show. They are a very popular attraction in the main ring.
The Horse of the Year Large Hack 2022 qualifier was Daydreamer, owned by the late HM Queen, ridden and produced by Katie Jerram-Hunnable, Daydreamer went on to stand reserve champion at the Horse of Year Show.
New classes are being added into the working hunter ring for 2023, we are hosting 5 BSPS Summer Working Hunter Stakes, open to riders any age, plaited or mountain & Moorland ponies, The jumps start at 60cm up to 100cm, increasing by 10cm for each class.
Also new for 2023 each of the light horse rings will be sponsored. We are very grateful to all our sponsors and if anyone is considering offering sponsorship/support to the show please don’t hesitate to contact me.
